Beautifully Ordinary

What was ordinary has become extraordinary with the passage of time...

Where are all of the trucks and SUVs?

Oh that's right, trucks were out on the farms and up in the woods, being used for work :P If I existed in that time, a truck would have been my daily driver for sure.

lookit that '58 Nomad! It's probably just a Del Ray (I'm guessing by the chrome trim), but damn, that's hot!

What's amazing about that pic is that it's at a ski resort somewhere, but all the cars are RWD!! No AWD, no SUVs, no CUVs, no FWD...and it's in color...from a time long ago that I'm used to seeing in B&W/shades of gray.

The sport utility vehicle is right there in front GMT.... that light green Chevy Wagon. It's out skiing (see the ski racks on the roof?) and as a wagon, it has lots of utility! I'm surprised you couldn't see it.

Wonder if that '58 Phord on the left overheated during high-altitude driving like our '58 Raunch Wagon used to? Of course, my old man was kind of an idiot for purchasing it with a 223 six and 3-speed stick. A little too much car for not enough engine, especially up in the Rockies.

Chevy wagon trims were Yeoman, Brookwood, Nomad, in ascending order. Nomad got the Impala-esque rocket, by the '58 brochure that green sweetie is a Brookwood.

Another greatly-refreshing aspect is; cars OTHER than black/white & 5 shades of grey. The pic is in color and it's colorful.

+1 and nary a beige Camry to be seen

+2 Quality Made US Steel with no Asian Lemming auto in site. :P

Also like Balthzar pointed out, such a colorful picture at that.
