January 27, 201313 yr These were such a big deal back then... it was the re-ignition of the ponycar horsepower race. Chevy dropped the beautiful bomb in 1982 with the new Camaro, but it was gutless, with the 165-hp Crossfire Injected 305. Ford answered this gorgeous car with the '83 Mustang 5.0 H.O., and the war was on... the '84 L69 190-hp 305 killed that year's 5.0 in the Mustang, and the rest was history. It possibly got us where we are today, with such great choices as the ZL1 Camaro, GT500 Mustang and Challenger SRT 392. I would prefer blue interior, but this one is a beauty... and with full hardtop and no a/c, possibly the quickest Camaro combination available that year. Just as in '64.5, Ford (re-) started it with their '83, then Chevy answered in '84, and so it goes...
January 28, 201313 yr Thanks, Camino. I was hot-n-heavy on these back in the day. Many of us were. They were an exciting new beginning after a dark time.
