Cadillac News: Rumorpile: What To Possibly Expect In The 2014 Cadillac Escalade

CarScoops has learned from a contact of theirs some information about what to expect with the new 2014 Cadillac Escalade.

The contact says the new Escalade will stick with its boxy looks on the exterior and use headlights similar to the ones used on the ELR. The back end has taillights that "run from the roof down, being thinnest closest to the roof" and similar in looks to the CTS wagon.

Inside, the contact says the new Escalade will feature much higher quality materials, making it more luxurious.

"The interior design is real everything. Real wood, metal, leather," the contact said.

I am very excited for this to see if they have fixed the one major problem with the current Escalade, the lack of headroom for those of us that are tall. At 6'6" tall I love my current 2006 Escalade ESV Platinum and yet the current model I cannot fit in as the seat does not go low enough to allow me to sit upright. I do not buy auto's that require reclining.

As such, I am very much interested in the seating of the new Escalade. The only thing I have a pass on is the damn high belt line. Do not like the smaller seats.

Not sure about the tail lights that go to the roof. Sounds like the early 90s Chevy Lumina MPV or Pontiac Trans Sport. The interior does need to get better and not remind of a Tahoe. The Mercedes GL is the #1 seller in this segment now, the Lexus LX and Lincoln Navigator are nearly extinct, you sort of have to get it right or face elimination.

with laser welding of light assemblies, they can be much more 'artsy' than the 90's vans....

I guess the tail lights would be more CTS wagon than Trans Sport :AH-HA:

I agree with ZL-1 that the lights will be more CTS Wagon than the ugly Trans Sport. Plus with the use of LED lights now, you can do some pretty cool things. Looking forward to it, but if the interior seating does not gain room, deal breaker for me.

I had to Google the CTS wagon as it wasn't coming up in my memories. Not bad on teh CTS wagon, now I can't wait to see how GM/Cadillac make this work ont eh Escalade.

i was really really hoping to see actual cadillac looking taillights on this new one and not the previous versions. This is great news.
