Latino rights promoter and famous over acter Ricardo Montalban playing along with Chrysler's not-from-Corinth Corinthian leather. If you think this is just some funny random old car ad, it had a serious, lasting effect on people. Baby Boomers loved the commercial and clearly bought the message.

I feel we can learn much from the history of some amazing commercials and what might just be missing from getting people back into transportation. Quality is there, excitement is there, now we just need to find the right message to click for people driving again. :)

"SMALL CHRYSLER"?????

No lie, these were the shiznit back in the day.

They were a cool car for the time. In comparison to other chryslers at that time, it was a small car, now I think it is what they call a large car with 2 doors.

True, they were a midsize B-body. Basically an update of the '71 B-body, which included the Coronet, Charger, Road Runner, GTX and Satellite. '75 was a restyle w/ more formal rooflines for regular 2drs and various re-namings in the following years. The Charger SE and Cordoba were Chrysler's answer to the Monte Carlo, Grand Prix, Regal, Cutlass Supreme, Elite and Cougar XR-7 in the growth years of the midsize personal luxury coupe..

Mostly to the MC, some would argue, given how many styling cues the Charger SE & Cordoba took from the MC in particular. Interesting, though, a few years later, the Cordoba/Mirada took on more Thunderbird-like styling cues.
