Why two bodystyles? Different tastes in Jaguar’s key markets. China, which is becoming the XJ’s largest market isn’t too keen on the current design and wants something a bit old school. There was also rumors of strong dissent in certain groups at Jaguar if the next XJ went back to its old ways. The decision to go with two bodystyles seems to help smooth this over. April 24, 201312 yr H'mmm I can see a balanced sales approach in having a fastback style and a traditional 4 door sedan. Not really a big deal for the bulk of the planets people who cannot afford such luxury. I thought China owned Jaguar? So I can see them changing to their tasts at the expense of the rest of the world.
