All the sentiments are spot-on. However, note the drudgery of 'same old same old' shows the guy stuck in traffic, and the climactic scenes in the Holden show wide-open, empty rural roads. Truth is, other that sounding good, that same Holden will sit, mired in commuter traffic, slogging it out in the daily commute, and elbowing it's way thru crowded urban roads. In other words, that drudgery is inescapable, and the performance/exhaust note aside, there's still plenty of vanilla here. That, and it's dated IMO.

Love the car, the commercial is spot on in more ways than just talking about a car.

I get the sense that this car is more about being your weekend driving machine as it would not be a good commuter car. I love the look of the car as it is better looking than the vanilla Chevy design language right now. Jelly Bean CUV's or Jelly Bean Cars take your pick.

Yes it is a bit dated, but then it still does have a macho stance to the car that catches my attention. Love it still and would take it here in the states.

^^^I thought the same thing, especially when you look at most of the people whom actually buy HSVs: tradesmen and small trade business owners (fabricators and the like). Most are 40s-50s, but I guess you sell aspiration to older people by letting them think this will somehow make them younger.

I like that ad..it speaks to me as a 40 something single professional stuck in the commuter grind of corporate life..but I haven't stooped as low as to drive a Camry or other appliance.. :)

I could imagine a similar ad for the Charger SRT8 or Chevy SS. Nice to see such cars still exist..an alternative to the generic FWD appliances the zombie masses buy...even if stuck in traffic, it's RWD/V8 and real, not just another bland CUV or FWD 4dr compact..

I don't get who this ad is speaking to... the late 30's unmarried professional male currently driving a Camry can't be that huge of a target demographic that you'd need to devote a 2 minute spot to it.

I think this would appeal to anyone even in their 20's or teens who love to drive and love performance. This should attract attention from those that are into auto's, play racing games, go to car shows, etc.
