Basically, this is a spinoff of the car spotting thread. Whereas in it, we include the newest vehicles going on sale that we've started to see, here we talk about vehicles that we've only seen a few of over our lifetime. These are posted in the normal car spotting thread, too, but are generally overlooked. And since they can sometimes be interesting, I think they deserve their own thread.

My rare cars are a white Triumph TR7, I actually had to look it up when I saw it, I didn't know what it was.

I've seen one red Ferrari 360 Modena heading down the historic district here in Lexington.

Two Bentley Continental GTs.

Domestics would include the last gen Olds Toronado, of which I've only seen...2? Maybe 3, the most recent out in Louisville.

I've seen one 70 Boss Mustang, was HAWT! Black and red two-tone. :ohyeah:

Uh...what else?

Ah, seen a couple of Cadillac Allante's, pretty cool.

Hmm...thats it for now, I'll post more as I think of them.

A Porsche GT about a year ago.

A Camaro SS LT4 in 1997.

A Ferrari F40 and F50 two summers ago.

A yellow Lamborguini last summer in the home depot parking lot

A new Bently coupe a couple months ago

Today I saw a Focus sedan with the Hatchback headlights

I've seen a Continental GT once. And a Lotus Elise and C6 Z06 (the summer before it was released) both in the same day.

a late 90's Neon. :P

saw a Lambo diablo a week ago.

A Ford Pantara (sp)

1930's Cord FWD car

a late 90's Neon. :P

um...those aren't rare at all. I see plenty of them still. Rare is a Lincoln Mark LT. Only ever seen one of those. Hell, I'v seen more Vipers! (6 i think)

I saw a Continental GT once too, the look so awesome!

I no Moparboy. But I have seen Blackwoods before those are rare.

There's a guy that lives literally right around the corner from me that owns a Lincoln Blackwood; how many of them did they make anyways?

about 5 and 2 were used in crash testing

I no Moparboy. But I have seen Blackwoods before those are rare.

:P I was just using the Viper as an example. Since it is a low production exotic car, the fact that I have seen 6 of them VS 1 Mark LT which is higher volume and hardly exotic is sad.

I think I've only seen one Lincoln Blackwood.

Maybe 3 Envoy XUVs.

2 Ferrari F430s so far (incl. one this past weekend).

2 Rolls Royce Phantoms (incl. one this past weekend).

2 Mercedes SLRs.

1 Porsche Carrera GT.

2 Enzos.(incl. one this past weekend).

3 Ford GTs (2 at new car shows)

2 Alfa GTs (the current model)

1 Caddy BLS (this past weekend)

As far as oldies go, these come to mind:

I don't think I've ever seen a '59 or '60 Caddy Fleetwood Brougham in person, though I've seen one '57 (stainless steel roof, suicide doors, etc).

1 '69 Charger 500, at a classic car show

I think I've only seen 1 '61 Olds 98 4-window 4dr ht w/ the wraparound back glass.

Do BMW 318ti's for sale at $4995 count?

Does a Shadow with almost 208k miles on it count?

Actually...I still see a good amount of Shadows in my area, but all of them are newer (91-94). I've never seen an 89 or older besides mine and my Dad's in recent memory. So I guess that does make mine rare in a sense ^_^

Saw two 9-2X's on the 4-oh-1 the other day, only three car lengths apart :yikes: Very rare to even see one

In Seattle last November I saw more Bentley's (5) than Neon's (1) or Pickup trucks for that matter (0).

One of those Midget convertibles, I've only seen one and DAMN that thing was small, it's like a mini version of a Miata if you can believe that is possible.

I've got another one, one time I saw this Dodge car the looked like it was Dodge's version of El Camino, so basically like a pickup car. Very very strange and in very bad condition, does anyone know the name of it?

altho they are popular elsewhere ive only seen one solstice to date... Northern NJ doesnt exactly have roadster weather lol

a 1968 buick skylark, 1967 ford fairlane, 1974 trans am, and a 69 corvette L71 all at a gas station near my house... amongst other random 30s and 40s cars that i cannot identify tho one is a taxi...

a last gen lincoln mark VIII, STC? not sure about the letters... saw it today on my way to practice...

ooo and a 1980s porsche turbo... a kid in my school drives one

:P I was just using the Viper as an example. Since it is a low production exotic car, the fact that I have seen 6 of them VS 1 Mark LT which is higher volume and hardly exotic is sad.

It's funny casue it's true!

Now this past weekend I saw a 1997 Nissan 240SX notchback.

That's pretty rare for a non-exotic. Still more common than my

1st en. Maxima 5-speed though.

About a week ago I was checking out a 1985 Oldsmobile

Eureka Long Door Hearse in Silver. Very cool by my standards.

Only $1500 drives it away. I'm trying to convince XP to buy it!

I also saw a few othe rare cars in the past year:

1969 Yenko Super Camaro (fathom green with 427)

not one, not two but three 70s Citroens at a JY ready to be crushed!

1969 AMC AMX

1970s Lotus Europa

1984? Chrysler Imperial "Bustle back"

1960s Toyota Corona Sedan, get this: in the middle of NYC parked on the street!

1965? Bonneville Navy Ambulance by some long gone coachbuilder (in JY :( )

1969 Mustang with the 429... mint at a carshow

Pre-production ZR1 prototype (sleeper wiht the non-ZR1 styling)

1987 Ferrari F40

1980s Alfa Romeo sedan in dark blue

1982 Renault Gordini at the JY... it was a HT and canvas roll back roof!

1990s Porsche 928 (two in the past few weeks)

THe MFA exhibit of Ralph Lauren's cars was amazing.

Classic Ferraris, CLASSIC Bentleys (not the $h!ty new ones) & even a McLaren F1.

Today

3, count `em, 3 Dodge Aries/Plymouth Reliants

a first gen Dodge Caravan (god those are slow, makes my Shadow seem like a pocket rocket)

Of course, We have an 86 Caravan, so i see it all the time, but this is someone else's lol.

Two days ago, I saw a Chrysler Intrepid. I figured it must be a Canada thing, because I've never heard of it before. It's basically a Dodge Intrepid with Chrysler emblems and different rims.

I've also seen an AMC Eagle around here a few times.

Some guy always parks in the ROTC parking lot with a baby blue '79 Accord hatchback. Before this year, I had never seen a 70's Honda in my life.

Also in the ROTC parking lot, someone has an orange International Scout.

Saw my first Plymouth Scamp about a month ago.
