CYPRESS, Calif., Sept. 4, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Mitsubishi Motors North America (MMNA) today reported August sales of 5,281, an increase of 24.3 percent compared to August 2012.

The U.S.-built Outlander Sport crossover led the way with sales of 2,171, an increase of more than 59 percent. August marks twelve consecutive months of sales increases for the fuel-efficient CUV. Outlander Sport sales are up more than 53 percent year to date.

Sales of the all-new 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander, showed a year-over-year increase of more than 100 percent for the second consecutive month. Overall Outlander sales are up 43 percent year-to-date.

In October, Mitsubishi Motors will celebrate the full sales launch of the all-new 2014 Mitsubishi Mirage 5-door sub-compact – the most fuel-efficient gasoline-powered, non-hybrid vehicle in America.

Mitsubishi August sales highlights:

  • Outlander Sport sales were up 59.5 percent in August and are up 53.5 percent for the year.
  • Outlander sales were up 103.0 percent in August and are up 43.0 percent year-to-date.
  • Lancer sedan sales were up 9.8 percent in August and are up 29.5 percent year-to-date.
  • Lancer Evolution sales were up 13.2 percent in August and are up 5.0 percent for the year.
