Speaking with Auto Express at the Frankfurt Motor Show last week, Palmer revealed that the company will reveal a concept at the Toyko Motor Show in November that gives some hints of what to expect with the next Z. “Do I know what it looks like? Yes I do. Have I driven it? Yes I have. When will you see it? Come to Tokyo,” said Palmer. Palmer says the next Z will be lighter and smaller than the 370Z. Also, the next Z will feature a smaller powerplant and possibly be turbocharged. Palmer also stressed that electric power is being looked at as well. September 16, 201312 yr I have no problem with hybrid or electric powerplants as that is the future to deliver performance and better mileage, but shrinking a car down and still calling it a Z is just wrong. Going smaller and trying to say it is the same as the outgoing model is not the right marketing thing to do and I think this will backfire in their face.
September 17, 201312 yr Yeah I agree. Like they say, bigger is better. People don't want to be caught up in a teeny tiny vehicle. So from a marketing standpoint, going smaller might hurt them in the long run.
September 26, 201312 yr I wouldn't want the next Z to be any smaller as it's not a massive car, being lighter is perfectly fine though.
