September 26, 201312 yr So I have that black plastic cladding on the CR-V. I'd like to find something that will rejuvenate it a bit. Anyone have any product tips?
September 26, 201312 yr http://www.meguiars.com/en/automotive/products/g15812-ultimate-black/ I use Meguiar's Ultimate Black trim detailer on the black plastic parts of the G6 and Envoy. Seems to last a while through rain and car washes too. There are a lot of products out there, it will depend on your brand preference. I have been using a different Surf City product that I'm really impressed with, so maybe look into their product, Black Max: http://www.surfcitygarage.com/shop/black-max-vinyl-rubber-trim-dressing As I use up my Meguiar's products in the near future, I may begin to replace them with Surf City products.
September 26, 201312 yr magic ice or something like that will really gloss it up. we used that at the auto shows.
September 26, 201312 yr Mother's Back to Black works well too. Its worth noting that all of these will will remove wax and grease and will temporarily restore black finish. For a more permanent solution you'd want to use something like this: http://www.amazon.com/Paints-SEM39143-Trim-Black-Aerosol/dp/B000EM019O
September 26, 201312 yr Author Thanks guys. I use a lot of Meguiar's stuff on the Toronado, so I'll give that a try on the CR-V
September 26, 201312 yr I have used all the products listed here and they all work well and seem to last the rain for a good long while before fading again.
September 26, 201312 yr A friend of mine who details my Z06 uses Plastic Conditioner. Autoglym is a Brit manufacturer of excellent car care products, which are used by high end professional detailers. While not cheap, they are super excellent and I like to be cheap.
September 27, 201312 yr In that case, just use Tire Black to make any and all plastic pieces look like new along with the tires and it lasts for a few weeks. More than enough time to trade it in or sell it.
September 27, 201312 yr Author I'm going to try and sell it privately. Private party is $9k - $10k, we were only offered $4k on trade-in.
September 27, 201312 yr But what about the tax value? Here in washington state since we have no income tax, the state gains everything by sales tax, so with a 10% sales tax on the value of the new vehicle being offset by the value of the tradein, it can make a difference on what you end up paying.
