NOVEMBER 2013 CAR SPOTTERS HERE!

Featured Replies

Daylight hours grow short, but if we're quick with a spotlight, maybe we can get a good Spotters thread going this month. So... spot away, right here!

Saw a F'ing gorgeous '64 Grand Prix, minty-mint, Marimba Red w/ 8-lugs. I wanted to pull a 180 and chase it down (I did see what side street it went down).

Later, this made a few passes up & down my street:

'67 Chevelle SS, open headers. Sounds great, but didn't move out as well as the sound would lead one to believe (still left a cloud of burnt rubber).

Time capsule Buick I see from time to time at the Wawa by work.

Was actually late October (during last week in Sweden), but: 1 black Escalade and 1 blac SRX (the Sigma one)... :)

In Nashville, saw a 1940's beautiful ford pickup painted black with red chrome edges.

Saw a silver Nissan NV200 this morning, first one I'd seen..

'65 Sting Ray, side pipes, silver, looked excellent, parked at gas station.

Took a sick day today and on my way to my doctor's appointment a mid-'60s Chevy K-20 4WD crossed my path. Original patina, modern lift and oversized tires:

Nice rainbow sticker...

Clogged streets coming...

'68 Chevelle hardtop, yellow, nice shape, at body shop.

'65 Impala convertible, black over black, nice shape, same place

'61-ish Dodge Lancer, 'advertising sign' :

Seen quite a few new Sierras around Athens. They do look better in person.

Saw parked in a freeway breakdown lane--a black Peugeot 505. Haven't seen one in ages...

Something I haven't seen in well over a decade; a '67-ish T-Bird coupe, dark brown, completely stock, show condition, rolling.

'75-76. Looked decent but had horrific quality issues (time & owner workmanship) :

Saw two Lamborghini Gallardo roadsters yesterday, one yellow and one red.

A new Lexus LS...rolling down the highway near work with a navy blue bottom half, silver top half, large custom chrome wheels, and black windows.

Looked like it rolled straight out of SEMA or something.

Also a new CLA the other day, the econo Benz:

2 tone paint like that needs to make a comeback.

Plus I just realized it had portholes...

The paint and wheels looked incredible. Strange car to do it on, but visually interesting version. Forget which state it was from, maybe Florida.

Because the Mercedesbach made it work so well? ;)

I saw one of the new RAM ProMaster vans in white on 295 North today going to work. It was a low-roof model and was quite boxy in shape.

Hybrid day.... saw an Oldsmobuick this morning.....an '80s Ciera (white) wearing a Century front clip (blue). Also saw the Thundercat again (red '85-86 Cougar w/ black '87-88 T-Bird turbo coupe front clip).

Saw something unusual at my local Chevy store on the corner ramp--a silver '14 Silverado regular cab short bed..sharp truck.

'61 Pontiac Catalina Safari, darker red, dusty but straight & whole, on a trailer. Strongly wanted to turn & follow...

Sounds like Pittsburgh is getting some snow now...hope my flight in tomorrow doesn't get cancelled...

Be safe everyone with the snow storm hitting you. Seattle is a nice comfy 41 degrees and sunshine. :P

Just got done having a test drive in a coworkers new Audi S4 that he just got back from a customer tuner shop. After buying it new at the dealership, he drove it to the tuner and plunked down 20K more for new brake system, exhaust system, ECU Tuning, and other engine work.

WOW, It really moves and the crack of the exhaust is nice under hard driving. :D Gotta love engineers who love to tune their auto's for premium performance. :D

Yeah, flying in tomorrow to visit my Mom and brother for Thanksgiving...PITT is the closest airport.

Black S-Class (SWB)... I actually like this new S more than the current 7 or the A8...

I saw one of the new S-classes yesterday in pearl white.

It's got a presence doesn't it? Very hard to accomplish, but I hope the LTS can thrash it on that aspect...

Yes, I esp. like the enlarged grile compr

It's a handsome car...I like the larger grille relative to the last two generations....I'm still a fan of the hefty W126 and W140 generations of the '80s-90s.

'69 Mustang Mach 1, grey w/ black stripes, very nice, 100% factory down to Wide Oval tires, on 'cars for films' flatbed.

LOL, a 69 Mustang Mach 1 just went by the office, Lime Green. Looks original including the fading paint job.

Black Bentley GTC coupe

One of those new, monstrous, hulking, bloated Rolls sedans. Actually, I like the look of 'em.
Went by a backyard carport thingie where I believe I had earlier spotted a '56 Roadmaster (well; there was a Florentine Curve there...), but the homeowner had put sections of wooden-slat fencing up to obscure. Looked like a Fiero GT was peeking out from the other bay tho.

A standard length Phantom is 8 inches longer than a Chevy Suburban, that is really big 4 door sedan, let alone the extended length which adds another 10 inches.

They look like they weigh 12,000 lbs tho.

230" is only 13" longer than my Buick, but that's a coupe. Good size neighborhood ;)

And the entry level Ghost isn't too small either.... 212 for standard length, 219 for extended.
