Yes, there are a number of legal issues but the law is so hazy that it really depends not only on your state but even on your municipality.I have, for some time, been trying to put together a database of laws but have been stymied by the sheer number of laws.

I've wanted my wife's '08 G6 Sedan's taillights to be darker for quite some time now (funny, I was just talking to her about this two weeks ago). Skill level would be very low, so I'm not sure if the dark tint film would be the way to go or not for me. I don't want something as dark as the link above shows, something not as red as the currently are and more in line with Pontiac's of the '80s & '90s (usually the GT models had darker taillight lenses).

The smoke http://www.rvinyl.com/tint-film/!/Smoke-Tint-Film.html would be about the right darkness I believe but if you don't feel up to it there are also replacement tail lights in smoke here: http://www.rvinyl.com/Custom-Tail-Lights-LT-G605JM-TM.html. Spec-D generally makes good plug and play Altezza-style lights but this is only an option if you want to change from the stock look.

Hope this helps!

At present we offer a smoke, and a blackout smoke only. We used to carry a dark and light smoke but the variation was so slight as to be useless. Hope you had a happy turkey day!

Light one I could live with....way too many folks have them too dark, and it's tougher to see at night...
