While not officially revealed, Chevy has already updated their website with official information and pictures on the 2014 Sonic Dusk special edition. It's been a long time coming since the concept and a supposed official release that was timed for the 2013 model year, but never came to fruition.

The Sonic Dusk, planned to be available in late spring 2014, will arrive with the refined style of a premium sedan. The subtle Ashen Gray Metallic exterior is contrasted by matte-finish upper and lower grilles, door handle inserts and decklid trim. A ground effects package, rear spoiler and 18-inch aluminum wheels with Midnight Silver finish complete the modern aesthetic. Under the hood, the ECOTEC® 1.4L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine with Variable Valve Timing gives you all the power you want and offers up to 40 MPG hwy†. Standard 4-wheel antilock front and rear disc brakes give you added peace of mind. Inside, Jet Black leather-trimmed seats with sueded accents and Mojave inserts set the tone for a pure driving experience. Mojave stitching and door and instrument panels enhance the overall mood. Sonic Dusk is also equipped with a rear vision camera and Chevrolet MyLink† Radio, which integrates a smartphone and stored media by way of Bluetooth® wireless technology†, plug-in auxiliary outlet or USB port†.

GM should do a 2.0T AWD version of the Sonic hatckback boosted to about 300 bhp / 280 lb-ft. They can call it the "Supersonic"

Very nice package. Easily the best car in the class, the Dusk just puts it a notch higher yet.

Why is GM adamant about not putting a more potent motor on this capable platform?

Dusk, RS even though tasty give perception of a lipstick on the ... We know the car is more than capable. At 2,700 lb Fiesta ST packs 190 odd HP, GM should at least match that rather than putting the 2.0T.

Why was it not planned? This is a post-bankruptcy vehicle. What prevents the 2.0T being put under the bonnet?

I don't know why, but apparently no gamma vehicles can take the 2.0 (or 2.4 or 2.5). The new 1.6T is supposed to take that role for the gamma cars eventually, but they still haven't gotten it certified for the US yet.

Is the Sonic engine bay that small compared to the Cruze bay? What is the dimensional difference between the Family 0 and Family II engines?
