Lucra Cars the next industry Amercian Muscle Car Builder

Featured Replies

They sound interesting..there was one of their cars--a retro looking roadster---on a US Top Gear rerun I watched recently. No idea how long of a shelf life they will have though, awfully hard for a cottage industry company to make it these days...

Getting a strong, Deja-Vector W8 vibe here.

The owner says he is making an American Muscle car with Euro Driving quality. A combination of marriage of the Corvette ZR1 with a Lambo or Ferrari. The details seem to imply a Ferrari style body / frame / suspension setup with the Corvette Power Train.

I don't really consider the Corvette to be a muscle car either. The Challenger/Charger/300C SRTs are muscle cars. Arguably, the Taurus SHO, Chevy SS, and CTS-V are muscle cars. .... but 2 seat GT roadsters have never really held the term "muscle car"

Maybe the enthusiast populous is now willing to 'get sloppy' with "muscle car", just like a small quantity has with "coupe".

These aren't really muscle cars though are they?

Agreed there.

A muscle car, by the strictest definition, is an intermediate sized, performance oriented model, powered by a large V8 engine, at an affordable price. Most of these models were based on "regular" production vehicles. These vehicles are generally not considered muscle cars, even when equipped with large V8s. If there was a high performance version available, it gets the credit, and not the vehicle that it was based on.

Examples: Buick GS, Chevrolete Chevelle SS, Dodge Charger R/T, Ford Torino/Cobra, Plymouth GTX, Plymouth Road Runner, Oldsmobile 442, Pontiac GTO

Would any of you turn down the opportunity to drive one of his cars let alone own one? While I agree with you all that he is stretching calling this a muscle car. I am glade to see a person having started a business and building in America.

I'll drive anything, but there are very very few vehicles in the 'super car' genre that I aspire to own.
Agreed with the sentiment 'yes on a new American auto enterprise'.
