January 26, 201412 yr Local dealer has a green base model Soul with a 6 speed stick shift for $15,610. I was researching the Soul then here at home, and it is amazingly well-equipped for the price, with that super-long warranty. Electric windows/locks/heated mirrors/keyless entry, privacy glass, rear wiper, 6 speaker stereo, a full compliment of safety gear. Even with the small 1.6 and wheel covers (I could pull them and ride on black steelies like the kids!), this could make a great daily driver to and from work. At that price, I might be able to afford a 10-year old truck for a second vehicle. THOUGHTS?
January 27, 201412 yr Author Well anyway, Car&Driver tested the base model with the manual and came away impressed, saying it is very nice for the class, and much improved over the old bodystyle, with a smooth, quiet ride and a nice shifter feel. Maybe I'll go test drive it.
January 27, 201412 yr I liked the last Soul, and I drove it a couple of years ago and came away impressed. I drove the 2014 model (an Exclaim model with the larger engine) and am even more impressed. The interior quality is much improved. It's on my short list of vehicles if I get something. Definitely worth considering, a great value, functional, and fun.
January 27, 201412 yr Author I was thinking the same. 2015 Colorado is an awesome, beautiful truck, but do I want to commute in one? I would like to work closer to home, but reality bites.
January 27, 201412 yr I sat in one at NAIAS. It's a fairly substantial improvement over the old one. Pretty nice, actually. It's just too bad you can't get one with a stick and a few more options than what they offer.
January 28, 201412 yr Author I really like the smoother new look, and the new interior is way ahead of the old Soul.
