May 1, 201411 yr Another Huge Month for Mitsubishi Motors April Sales Soar More Than 46 Percent Thu, May 01, 2014 - CYPRESS, Calif. - Mitsubishi Motors North America (MMNA) today reported another outstanding sales month with April sales of 6,542, a 46.6 percent increase over the April 2013 total. It was the second highest monthly sales total for Mitsubishi in more than two years (exceeded only by last month) and also the best April sales for MMNA since 2011. The U.S.-built Outlander Sport led the way with its third-best-ever monthly sales total of 2,619, up 24.1 percent compared to April 2013 sales. Outlander Sport was introduced in 2010 and had a previous record monthly total of 2,634 (June 2013). The all-new Mitsubishi Mirage had 1,331 units sold, also the third-best all time monthly sales total for that model which was introduced in September 2013. "A big month for us in March was exciting, but now a second consecutive outstanding month in April is the start of a trend," said MMNA EVP of Sales, Don Swearingen. "We're enthused that new-car shoppers are really starting to take notice of our brand and we are not going to let up in May. We're further increasing our advertising exposure and offering new and attractive incentives for customers." Other highlights of April sales include: Total Mitsubishi sales are up 29.0 percent year-to-date. Outlander sales were up 125.0 percent for the month and are up 37.5 percent year-to-date. This was the best April of sales for Outlander in six years. Outlander Sport sales were up 24.1 percent for the month and are up 33.4 percent year-to-date. Lancer Evolution sales were up 21.0 percent for the month and are up 16.8 percent year-to-date.
May 1, 201411 yr well... at least it is the right direction for Mitsu.... if they are making a profit on these Mirages, maybe they can put that money into building a better car.
May 10, 201411 yr Perhaps. But they are such a bottom feeder right now it is difficult to see them pulling themselves up to a relevant full line car maker.
