  • All-New 2015 Sonata Begins Arriving at Dealerships
  • CUV Segment Up 36 Percent

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., June 3, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Hyundai Motor America just closed its best month ever with May sales of 70,907, up 3.7 percent versus the same period a year ago.

"Our excellent spring selling season continued through the month of May with dealerships across the country seeing an increase in customers visiting their showrooms," said Bob Pradzinski, vice president of national sales, Hyundai Motor America. "From Accent to our two CUVs, all the way to Equus, we saw double-digit gains over last May."

Both premium sedans, Equus and Genesis, experienced sales gains up 26 and 24 percent, respectively for the month.

Additionally, the first 2015 Sonata, built at the company's Alabama assembly plant, was sold this past Saturday and the first mass-produced retail Tucson fuel cell will be delivered to a customer in California a week from today, demonstrating Hyundai's fuel cell leadership position.
