Hyundai Motor America Reports Best Year And December Ever

  • Sonata and Elantra top 200,000 in sales
  • Santa Fe and Tucson up double-digits for the year

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., Jan. 5, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Hyundai Motor America today announced a record December sales month of 64,507 units, up two percent versus the record-setting period in 2013.

This is the fifth consecutive year of record U.S. sales up over the previous year and totaling 725,718.

"We ended the year on a high note," said Bob Pradzinski, vice president of national sales.  "And it was evident that the CUV segment was red hot with our exceptional sales for the year for both Santa Fe and Tucson."

The Santa Fe and Tucson finished the year with sales of 107,906 and 47,306 up 21.5 percent and 13 percent, respectively.  The all-new Sonata and Genesis sedans saw sales increases for the month of December up 24 and 17 percent, respectively.

With the North American International Auto Show just around the corner, Hyundai is making plans to reveal the all-new 2016 Sonata Hybrid and Sonata PHEV, in addition to a special concept, setting the stage for another strong year.

Certified Pre-Owned sales ended the year at 95,486, a 26 percent increase over the previous year.
