Who makes (or orignally did maybe) Chevrolets diesel engine?

WELL... The Duramax Diesel exists due in great part

to Isuzus involvement. It's one of ther best

turbo-diesels ever made, Gm has a history of

prolematic diesel motors so they made sure to get it

100% perfect this time around. Another Olds350

diesel disaster would have really hurt GMs rep.

Correct

"It's one of ther best

turbo-diesels ever made" besides the cummins :D, i heard that the chevy diesels had a whole lot of problems in the beginning from my dad (hes a diesel mechanic), btw i just asked this question cause i was talkin about cars with a friend of mine and he claims that Dodge needs to build theyre own engine, and claimed chevy makes the duramax, which none of "the big three" do make theyre own diesels.

Actually, if I remember right the 6.0L Powersmoke is built in-house by Ford (and its having problems, and going to be replaced once again by an International-built 6.4L). Cummins is doing a good job with their diesels along with the Izusu-based Duramax.
