January 25, 201511 yr I'll be converting the 1985 Ford Econoline with 115,000 original miles into the nicest tour van that I can manage. The van was purchased on a budget and it will be doing three rounds of the United States over the course of the next two years. The modifications we're talking are mostly going to be to the interior, some electronics, etc. I'll be tossing in all Kenwood speakers, a new CD player with an AUX jack, a loft bunk with gear storage underneath, I'll be pulling out the bench seat in the back, installing a 1600w AC power inverter straight off the front battery. Should be a pretty great steed when all is said and done. I'll keep you all updated on it!
January 25, 201511 yr Very cool, I love projects. This one reminds me of the Van conversion in Corvette summer. Look forward to some pictures also.

You mention that most of your project will be dealing with the interior and some electronics, which by the way, all sounds great. I am just thinking, if this is going to be your tour van, you could give this beauty a paint job, too. It might be a great way to promote your band's image, as you travel around the USA. Or, as you say, are on a serious budget, maybe an emblem or sticker. I look forward to seeing your progress. It sure sounds like your van will be rocking with good music.
March 28, 201510 yr Looks presentably priced to do the new auto wraps. You could have a wrap made of your band and have it put on and boom. Instant Marketing everywhere you go.
March 29, 201510 yr Sounds like an awesome project....! Need a driver? Cort www.oldcarsstronghearts.com 1979 & 1989 Caprice Classics | pigValve, paceMaker, cowValve "You better not try to stand in my way" __ J Paycheck __ 'Take This Job & Shove It'
