The past week has been abuzz with a report from Britain's Car Magazine stating that the MINI Superleggera Vision concept - shown last year - would go into production in 2018 as a replacement for the slow selling Roadster model. However, MINI's top executive put the kibosh on that report somewhat.

Peter Schwarzenbauer, head of MINI told Automotive News Europe that the concept is still under discussion.

“I cannot confirm that it has been approved yet,” said Schwarzenbauer.

Schwarzenbauer has been a big proponent of the concept, saying it would be a “great addition to the Mini range” and has been pushing for the model to enter production.

Someone on another site was excited about the prospect of a new british roadster coming back to the US.

But Mini is a lot like the Queen of England.  Looks British... sounds British... but is mostly German DNA.

So this concept would be an auto focused on those under 5'10" tall? This is the UK answer to population control if they build it. I doubt they can have people drive it and survive. Better to not waste money on such a small auto for the US market. They should instead focus on Hybrid's, EV, CNG, Many other options better than this little thing.
