May 1, 201510 yr My grandfather had the Chieftan, I remember my sister & I going with my Gparents to the Jersey shore one summer- it's was cool to sleep in the pull-down bunk over the front seats & peer out the porthole windows up there.

May 4, 201510 yr My folks had an '85 Chieftain, 33ft. Took many family vacations in it, and for the annual trips from Ohio to Florida in August and back to Ohio in June (spent the school year in the Florida Keys). I always enjoyed trips in it, took a few trips in it in the 90s also when I was in college. Looked like this one, a lot like the one in 'Spaceballs' (without the mods, of course)
