Instead of “Wagon Wednesday”, it was “Winnebago Wednesday”; these were EVERYWHERE when I was a kid!  Now, not sure when I last saw one in person.  Anyone else remember the Minnie Winnie in ‘Escape To Witch Mountain’?

My grandfather had the Chieftan, I remember my sister & I going with my Gparents to the Jersey shore one summer- it's was cool to sleep in the pull-down bunk over the front seats & peer out the porthole windows up there.

Oh, cool ... glad this sparked those memories, balthazar!  Sounds like an awesome summer vacation.  Any idea how long he had it?

Not sure how long he had it; were I to guess it would be about 5 years. 

My folks had an '85 Chieftain, 33ft.  Took many family vacations in it, and for the annual trips from Ohio to Florida in August and back to Ohio in June (spent the school year in the Florida Keys).   I always enjoyed trips in it, took a few trips in it in the 90s also when I was in college.

 

Looked like this one, a lot like the one in 'Spaceballs' (without the mods, of course)
