No wonder Mr. Cubes drove himself crazy......to never be content with what you got...you are never happy...but restless and miserable... Yes....you gots to have drive...drive to succeed....but you have to have fun doing it...you have to enjoy what it is you are trying to succeed in...and every little success...you have to take the time to savour the victories and enjoy them....if you are never content with your victories and always want more and more and more....death will see you sooner rather than later....so what is the point then? Or meds...become a slave to little pills...that is no fun either. Speaking of being a slave... Always wanting more and more and more....all you are really doing is becoming a slave to consumerism...because wanting more and more and more...is just wanting more things... A big house? A house as big as a Costco? Why? Property and house tax on that is insane... Heating and or cooling bills on that is insane... Upkeep and repairs bills on that is insane... And at the end of the day...that huuuuge house will always be empty....waste of space, time and effort... Wanting more money? That is cool... However....the point is to acquire and SAVE enough money so you dont become a slave to anything and anybody...that includes your job and that includes material objects... I love money....I love material things also... I just love life and giving love to my wife and kids that much more. Besides...all these material things...they are nice to enjoy while on earth...but you cant take it with you when you die...We should have learned that from the Ancient Egyptians....Their soul has moved on...their skeletons nicely mummified and their gold head pieces and armour louted from their tombs... Like I said...acquiring enough wealth to buy trinkets is a whole lotta fun...and that is where happiness SHOULD come in....but to keep on wanting more and more and more....its just a disease... Ya might just drive into oncoming traffic because there's nothing keeping the front wheels working together.

I'm all for making a sweet sleeper but I would want a little different base vehicle.. Those Cobalt Turbos(HHR SS) are pretty gnarly little vehicles. A good friend of mine has an HHR SS and he's just put an intake one it for the "fun noises" but it really is a fun little car. He wanted to do more with it but the mileage is over 100k(now that he's has a little more money to play around with) and he doesn't want exhaust to sound 'rice' and stock turbo cars REALLY need to open the exhaust up to make good power.

I pass all the time if the person in ront of me is going too slow or even if they just aren't using cruise and going all sorts of different speeds. I don't hesitate to pass if I don't like the vehicle in front of me. I don't force the issue with oncoming traffic but if it's clear..I just go on past.. Too many times somebody will be on my bumper when there is zero oncoming traffic. Grinds my gears.

I'm still looking to get a bit more power myself, but it's all within factory limits and retains driveability. At least the GTP actually offered the aftermarket hardware to make the car go faster properly, and it was marketed as a performance sedan. Everything for a Malibu turbo would have to be custom fabricated.

Oh they can be sleepers from the factory, like the guy you said because it was a sedan and my buddy's HHR..because it's an HHR (lol). I think GM ofered a "stage 2" kit that had bigger injectors, intake and a tune(I think) and it brought it up to 300/300 hp/tq and those weren't heavy cars. 300hp would go a long way in those.

June 12, 201510 yr So after replacing the electrical trifecta (battery, starter, and alternator, the former two being under warranty) the Ranger still would not crank. Screw it. I push started it and it was running. Immediately I noticed that it wasn't charging at all. Hooked up a multimeter to the battery posts, 12.4V and dropped while revving. Measured the voltage at the alternator post, 14.3V. Official diagnosis: The sound system killed the battery. While I was still hitting it with a dying battery the load on the starter and alternator became so great that it shorted both the components and the cables leading to them all at once. So only thing left to do is replace the starter and alternator cables. Thanks 2000+ Watt sound system!!! Edited June 12, 201510 yr by Thed

June 15, 201510 yr Well, my vintage road bike is getting a mid cycle upgrade. New Shimano R500 C30 wheels. New Michelin PRO 3 Race tires. New Quill Stem Adapter (bye bye old faithful racing quill stem). 3T Racing Alloy Anodized Stem (Hello sexy stiffness and light weight. heheh). 3T Racing Alloy Anodized Bar. Dura-Ace 9000 brakes. Ultegra 6800 Levers, just for brakes. Drivetrain will see a full cleaning, but next year I'm planning something big. I'll post a pic of it when I'm done the recent upgrades soon. Tires (maybe the most significant), brakes, anti-lock tech, stability control, traction control, AWD, etc etc. So tell me then, why, when it becomes necessary to put the wipers on the slowest delay setting because tiny droplets of water are coming from the sky… are the vast majority (95%) of drivers STILL slowing down to a maximum of 35 MPH??? It's ONE of TWO possibilities. Either drivers are THAT much worse now than 25 yrs ago (question is; is it BECAUSE of all the tech), or is all the tech really totally irrelevant to drivers??

It wasn't the last time I washed my car but the time before: Looked outside - 85 clear skies Checked forcast 0% rain for the next 2 days Long enough to appreciate my work Clean car Rains over night. Pissed off. I think the stage two actually made 295 hp and 330 lb-ft of torque and retained the factory warranty. Would have loved to see what those ran at the track! Never saw a performance test of that package either. Damn, I knew it was impressive numbers Yes the warranty was one of the biggest upsides..oh and I think it was only like 700ish dollars. So there were waaay more ups and downs to that upgrade package.

My is what I highlighted. I really don't drive any different when it's raining, unless it is a downpour - obviously. Actually, quick story. About a month ago the GF and I were taking our little girl to the vet And the quickest way to get there is a little 10 mile interstate gaunt. Well it started to rain a little then it started to POUR. The hardest I've ever had it rain while I was driving. The flow of trafic slowed to about 35mph. And i would have continued to decelerate but it stopped not even 5 minutes after it started raining(that hard). I could bearly see the taillighs in front of me, which is why I would have continued to slow down.

I'm assuming you're okay because you made to back here..so that part is good. Basically I went to drive that Black Ram Express I had talked about earlier. Went up the road the dealer advised and got behind a Trike moving at a slower pace. I came to a passing lane and went to go around. Pretty sure they sped up on me. The lane ended WAY soon and at this point I was already committed and halfway by. Gave it some more gas, didn't see the sharp left-hander and bounced off the guardrail. Damage was minimal, dented and scraped on the side of the bumper cover and a scrape across both passenger doors. No injuries except to my pride and probably my wallet. It is all really kind of a blur at this point. I know the police was making them haul it back to the dealer because I wasn't going that fast (lack of major damage/skid-marks) and thinks there may have been a steering malfunction. There's the story, nothing too scandalous haha. Oh, that was my first real accident in 20 years of driving. Edited June 15, 201510 yr by Stew
June 15, 201510 yr I wouldn't be surprised at all if they had sped up. This total dipsh*t was clogging the fast lane on I-95 yesterday, kept speeding up to upper 70s and then dropping to mid 60s--like literally tapping his brakes on an open straight away--it was blatantly ego driving because his speed picked up every time someone drove by. It was making everyone around him drive all aggro and ramping up the danger factor with otherwise light traffic. That really sucks though, dude. What's the word on the truck? Not going to buy it after that experience?
