Very interesting and I totally have expected this to happen as the auto industry learns how to build battery packs. Tesla hit this also where the connectors to each cell are not exactly where they are supposed to be and you get a short that causes a fire and a total melt down of the battery pack.

At least Ford has figured this out and will replace all existing battery packs with one that is built to the right spec and tolerance.

The whole reason I bring this up is NOT to have a political conversation but a open honest one on how to be safe. This week the police here in Washington is searching for a road rage driver in an Audi who got pissed off obviously as they passed a slower moving vehicle and shot at the other auto killing the drivers young daughter.

Road Rage is a big concern, I remember in the past that I would never have a problem when an idiot driver cut me off and I would flip them the bird. But now, we have to be careful about everything we do as you never know if a person will pull a gun and shot you.

I am concerned for everyone as I see examples of Road Rage more and more as I go out on drives.

I think anything outside of Caprice in the Chevy line in the 70s is questionable as a luxury car. Yeah, you could option up a Monte Carlo, but it would still have the base model dash materials, base model switchgear etc.

Probably why I am not impressed with the European super cars. This story has a bunch of short videos as the deal tears down a brand new Toyota GR Corolla which according to Toyota produces 300 HP/300 lb-ft of torque as a high revving 3 cylinder turbo motor. Glad it is covered by warranty as $32,000 to repair is crazy cost for a Corolla.

Ive had this thought.  It has been bugging me for 2 days.

I visited the Parthenon at the Acropolis in Athens many many times.  In the 70s, in the 80s, in the 90s, in the 00's and finally in '10s.   I have visited the Ancient Olympic site in Olympia once. In 2001.   Ive been to Akrotiri in Santorini twice.  Ive been to Crete but because of bad timing circumstance, I didnt visit Knossos.  (This would be something that has also bugged me, but its not the subjest of why Im writing this)

Ive seen lots of old stuff.  Ill get back to this later. 

Ive swam in the Aegean and Ive swam in the Ionian.  Ive swam directly in the Mediterranean.  Some of those beaches were...lets just say...some men and some women were in their most natural of states.  

 

My mom when I was just a kid, my aunts or uncles and cousins and my wife and my kids, myself and other tourists from all over the phoquing world spanning 5 phoquing decades  when we were observing history...   

 

 

When I was in school, in Greek school or in English/French school and I with my other classmates, my kids and their classmates, when learning abount Ancient Greek art and history and Roman...

Not once, young or old, did I, we, ANYBODY, did we EVER think that we were indulging in porn. 

What is going ON in some people's heads today in America?

We cant blame this kind of thing on the Puritans and their influence...   It cant be political.  Education about human history or even the looking at a naked human body from a phoquing statue that is not only art, but its of historical value.  It aint even sexual in ANY way...

That car is not high revving. You must not have read anything on it because it makes max hp at 6500rpm and max torque(276lb-ft) at 3000rpm.

I get that the production redlines at 6500 rpm and I realize now that I should have included the link to Toyota Racing where they have this same engine reving that high. But this still does not endear me to these small over pushed engines.

Race engines are a completely different beast designed specifically for one thing.

True, they are but then we do have many high revving engines an example of this is the Yamaha engine used in their boat/PWC. They have had limited success getting it to be used in an Auto outside of Japan, but here is a 10K to 15K revving engine. 

Clearly if they can have the engine rev that high, they could put it into the commercial auto market, but their conservative approach puts a limit on the engine. Yet one can imagine the aftermarket of tuners that will dial in these engines and push the boundary of revving.

Looks underwhelming to me.  If Ford was serious about this 20 years ago, Ford would have put the Marauder on a modern platform, not the ancient Panther one.  That would have made the  car more maneuverable and lighter on its feet.

Interesting you asked. They point to the 2020 model year in their long term reviews of 3 year old autos. I would have to say older stuff is not as good as newer stuff and with the battle on for quality, your probably right to avoid buying a 5 to 7 year old Kia versus a 3 year old Kia.

At least not everyone is only looking at Trucks/SUVs, still some that are looking to take classic name plates and try to make them modern.

Did you take a look at the vehicle that GM proposed what the Corvette SUV would be?

One didnt have to look at the date to know it was not an authentic attempt at a SUV.  

That would be clue #1.

Clue #2 would be the date.

 

But you are right, Chevrolet will eventually take the fork in the road that leads to a Corvette SUV.  Its just not at this time and especially not with that rendering.

Wright's Law is nice.  Call me when a Good Reliable EV can go for less than a current ICE car at current prices (without EV tax credits).  I can wait until 2030.
