According to yesterdays GM Medias Announcement, Chevrolet is Re-entering the low cab forward truck market.

 

 

According to the press announcement, Chevy will have 6 new models, 3500, 3500HD, 4500, 4500HD, 500 & 5500HD trucks.These are all based on the N-Series from Isuzu and is part of their new business relationship.

 

These trucks will be the only north american low entry and exit trucks that offer a gas powered and diesel power-trained lineup outside of Isuzu badge trucks.

 

Specifics from the announcement is as follows:

 

Engines: 6.0L GM V8 engine, 3.0L Isuzu Diesel, 5.2L Isuzu Diesel

 

Excellent visibility and maneuverability built for inner city and suburban use.

 

Easy Driver entry and exit.

 

Chassis lengths from 109 inches to 212 inches.

 

Compatibility with a variety of body types, including refrigerated box, stake/flat bed and service bodies.

 

45 degree tilting cab for easy access to the engines for maintenance.

 

Trucks are available now via Chevrolet Fleet and Commercial services.

I was always kind of surprised the D3 weren't really in this market..

I am excited to see these trucks. I wonder if they sell well if we will see badged GMC version.

Pretty much a rebadge from hell, but this is good for Chevy. Isuzu's are without a doubt the best LCF trucks on the market.

I wonder if this signals closer ties with Isuzu again like they had in the past.

They don't have any heavy-duty vehicles. Sterling used to be the only brand that offered everything from a pickup truck to a class 8 vehicle. Well, now they're dead.

Sterling has been dead. Their pickups were just rebadged Rams and their heavy duty trucks were mostly compiled of spare Ford parts. They were the cheapest of the cheap, and it showed. Diamler cut them off a few years ago.
