So I was getting some trailer tires replaced and they had this artice with a 82 or 3 oldsmobile in it that was in cherry condition. I loved the article. The Dautsun (68!) and the benz were also really funny to read.

I remember the winter beaters with the subaru justy.. i knew somebody that owned one of those.

Wow, one of the best posts as of late. Good Stuff.

That diesel 1983 Datsun Maxima makes my gas powered

1984 Maxima look almost conventional. I wish I could

have bought it off of them after they were done with it.

It has 70K more miles than my Datsun, impressive but

I'm sure there's other ones out there wiht a half million.

Heh... I remember that article. I was actually going to tell you about that Maxima, Sixty8. Seriously, I was. I'm serious... I just... uh... um... never did? Yeah... I forgot.

Damn, this thread got me researching GreaseCar (straight veggie oil conversion), eBaying for a Golf TDI, and now I have a question... why do diesels have such high resale values? Beat up Golfs with 80K miles are going for $13K+ with 30 bids, and last-gen Passat diesels are going for more $$$ than brand-new 2.0Ts.

Great article; my only complaint is that a diesel-powered bustleback Cadillac Seville wasn't also used

I was hoping they'd keep the Olds and use it as a project car and do a Duramax 6.6L conversion. Back in the mid 80s they made a dual engined Honda CRX...converting the Olds should be easy by comparison...

I'd love to install a duramax diesel 6.6T into my Maxima....
