October 5, 201510 yr I plan to replace my old muffler with a new exhaust kit on my 2009 Ford Ranger XLT SuperCab. I am torn between a Flowmaster and a Magnaflow. What should I go for? Edited October 5, 201510 yr by Drew Dowdell Removed links
October 5, 201510 yr What size engine do you have in your Ranger? Are we working with a 4 or 6 banger?
October 5, 201510 yr Well, I was bored and listened to a few Rangers with a few different setups( 4 banger/Flowmaster, 4 banger/Magnaflow, 3.0/Flowmaster, 3.0/Magnaflow) and I thought the best was the magnaflow regardless of engine. None sound particular good to me but I think that's because 95% of 4 cylinder and 6 cylinder engines don't sound good to begin with, IMO.
October 5, 201510 yr Flowmaster is good but noisier in comparison to Magnaflow. If you do not want to have the harmonic drum of noise in the cab then go with Magnaflow as the last time I checked they made sure that the harmonic drum noise did not get into the cab.
October 7, 201510 yr I had a 14" case Magnaflow on a 95 Park Ave. Because why not? It had a pleasant mellow thrum. I've always been a Magnaflow fan.
