November 24, 201510 yr ...well, they were about one thing. But I won't spoil it for you-read for yourself. Be that as it may, they conceded that it was hard to find fault with a Bentley SUV as fast, light, and sporty as many of their sedans. It even goes off-road. November 24, 201510 yr Damn. You could indulge yourself with a clock atop a dashboard for the price of one whole S-Class. Excellence in engineering of value.
November 24, 201510 yr Author I know right? I saw a pic of that thing and thought "ha ha, an offroad clock for an off-roader." Then I saw the price and my Timmies nearly geysered out my nose.
November 25, 201510 yr It just came to my head. Excellence of exclusivity. And thus another excellence shall be birthed.
November 25, 201510 yr I was liking the car until I go to the $160,000 GOD DAMN CLOCK. *WHO* in their *RIGHT MINDS* pays *THAT MUCH* money for a f@#king *CLOCK*!?!?!?!
November 25, 201510 yr Like I said over to another forum, I am wondering when the camouflage comes off this mule, so we can see what it really looks like. It's not fair to judge it until then.
November 25, 201510 yr the whole proposition is ridiculous. $390K (with the clock) ??? I don't think so, but to each his own. Interior looks like a nice place to be, with exception to those ugly Mercedes-ish round vents,... that I still believe were cribbed from my old Pontiac G6 and chrome lined. Also.. in a vehicle like this, and after being told that a console shifter is so low-class.. why no knob shifter? Smk??
November 25, 201510 yr Author I actually don't like it that much. I think the styling is kinda off, and ya... the clock.
November 25, 201510 yr WTF, They have cheap looking circle vents like you find in all fords. Then you have that hideous red and tan interior with dark wood. Someone needs to have their eyes checked along with the ability to design interiors. Steering wheel reminds me of a non-airbag steering wheel from the 90's. I will say that the final interior they show is probably their best. The rest are very sterile or just plain weird. Exterior, I am fine with it and it is growing on me. I do see like everyone else they are creating the rear large haunches that have become popular for auto's.
November 25, 201510 yr The clock might be 160k which is insane but it's a freakin' awesome clock to have in a car. A Breitling built into your car? F yes. If you're in the market for exclusivity, which Bentley buyers are, then buying the 160k Breitling clock option is a no brainer. That is, if you can get your hands on one as the builder only pumps out 1 every three months. I'd LOVE to have a Breitling or Rolex built into my car.
November 25, 201510 yr And no Breitling is worth $160K. That is criminal but some idiot will do it just because.
November 25, 201510 yr It isn't directly worth 160k but the rarity of it is what drove that price to what it is. Essentially, demand.
November 25, 201510 yr It isn't directly worth 160k but the rarity of it is what drove that price to what it is. Essentially, demand. Supply side if you want to be technical. Given they want to make/sell 5500 of these in the first year, the vehicles equipped with clocks is only 0.0727...% of the first year production run. Basically, the vehicles equipped with clocks for the entire product cycle, which means for the entire vehicle generation were already spoken for even before this press release. If I had the coin, why not? Why not spend 160k more for a vehicle that costs at base price 160k more than a base Range Rover. You can see my expression of hideous laughter, which by the way I love using pictures... hideous laughter.

I guess I was looking at it more from the point that people will want it because there will only be a few of them..forcing a high demand rather than a shortage of supply.. either way you look at it they're charging peole 160k and, like you said, they've all been taken for most likely.
November 26, 201510 yr These will be drifted, rolled over and abandoned @ shopping malls in Dubai. I'm not concerned.
November 26, 201510 yr To splurge or not to splurge? That is the question. An owner of a Bentley never asks that question. Well, what Bentley could have done, and might just do is dual-source the next clock (With a raunchy controversy similar to Chipgate for apple!!!). Surely another fabled watchmaker should have the capacity to produce 4 clocks a year worthy of being perched on a Bentley dashboard. And now my hideous laughter also applies just to the amount of attention this thread is getting.
November 26, 201510 yr Breitling needs to hire another clock maker. 4 people a year that buy that clock will want one in their Mulsanne as well. Mercedes needs a Maybach GLS with a V12 asap so we can have a comparison test.
November 26, 201510 yr I wonder if they will sell a clock with 4 diamonds for $80,000 for the less fortunate.
