December 13, 201510 yr I don't really know what to make of this, really. The LT1 in the Camaro got a fair bit more power, but there are a ton of variables involved too. Any theories? Here's the link: http://blog.caranddriver.com/dyno-shows-2016-chevrolet-camaro-ss-out-muscles-the-corvette/
December 13, 201510 yr 431rwhp? That has to be a ringer. I typically don't like the theory of manufacturers sending ringers anywhere and if Hennessey bought this to study/tune it a different story but if these were given to them from a test fleet it sounds like a good ole fashion ringer. That power loss is only 24hp. No way something only loses 5%. I know modern drivetrains have advanced A LOT but they still lose more than 5%. The Corvette lost 13% and the Camaro only 5%..?
December 13, 201510 yr Author That's the thing. GM has a history of underrating engines (remember that LS7 in the last Head2Head?). But the LT1 is only a couple years old. Is it possible that they've been able to sneak another 20-30hp out of it in only two years? The different drivelines and exhausts have to play some sort of role.
