2016 McDonald's Mighty Angus Review by Suaviloquent

Hello all, this is my first review ever of anything, and it's about a burger sold by the Golden Arches here in Canada as the mighty Angus. Angus....

So. Let's start with the presentation. Very nice exterior, classy lines, and I love the brown paint on the bun. The seed pattern is very stylized and reminds me of perforated leather.

It starts great, and it continues nicely. The lettuce was full of colour, clearly they thought of the rendering of the foliage and the colour saturation of the greens. But I'm not sure this is 4K, I'd say it's more of a judder-free 60hz 1080p.

Alright, so the sauce. very viscous, smoky sweet, probably some diesel soot colour. Probably some kind of heavy lubricant that needs to be warmed up to allow the bun and toppings to slide freely. It's a bit overbearing though, they need to taste-tune it so it is milder and less dominating the experience.

The grilled onions, excellent. I never thought a McDonald's burger would come with this luxury feature, but you know that's just what's happening in the industry, You're seeing trickle-down flavourtronics, and McDonald's is catching up to better burgers that cost less.

Tomato slice. I'm sorry, they advertise this is a massaging tomato for your tongue, but you know how it is, it's nothing like a real massager for your tongue. It just isn't possible at this price, it vibrates a little when you bite, but the viscous sauce probably reduces the sensation. You can't feel it.

However, the bacon bits are an affront to anyone who likes bacon. There's no replacement for displacement, and the bacon should have displaced MOAR OF LE BERGEUR. Inexcusable, for a CAD $7 burger.

The Patty? Either it's unimpressive or the smoky sauce, again, dampened the experience. To me, it's just a bigger patty from the same cut. No excellence of execution for the patty. Too much flab, not enough magnetic tasty food control.

So, what is the total package you are getting?

I think this is a good burger, probably overpriced, but reliable as it's very time efficient. Time efficiency is like the "reliability" of fast food.

So, I give it a 7.2/10, would Trump again, but only if my Obama-Clintoncare Foodsurance paid for it with a $19 trillion dollar deductible.

This was clearly either a fabricated review or a paid one. No McDonald's in the Continental US assembles sandwiches that well.

Thanks, that was something different :)

My favourite "chain" burger (more than just a handful of locations) here in Southern Ontario is South Street.

LOL!!!

I like that line!

If we ever start advertising on the radio...and maybe even take the big step and advertise on TV...I stealing that line from you!

If it succeeds..the tag line that is..I will give you a cut....a fair amount!

We...my family...dont do too many restaurants as I own one, and my wife and I know how to cook so we make delicious dinners at home....and in the summer time...I BBQ all kinds of stuff.

The kids will have a burger or hot dog at my restaurant from time to time.

The only fast food joint we do is McDonald's. We do that maybe once every other month or so.

The ONLY burger I do at Mickey D's is a Quarter Pounder with cheese and a Big Mac...Ill will always order the two burgers at the same sitting since we dont eat there often and I will always forever cherish a Quarter Pounder and a Big Mac. I figure...I might as well enjoy both burgers at once since it might be a while before I eat McDonald's again...

Whopper with cheese at Burger King is another favorite of mine. But Burger King has closed 95% of its stores in Quebec so I havent had a Whopper in over 5 years.  I wont go outta my way for one.

Agree with you Olds on the McD and BK burgers, but will not go out of my way for one, rather BBQ my own with a variety of stuffing in them. Nothing like a proper Stuffed Burger.

Favorite is Diced Jalapenos with pepper jack cheese inside. Spicy goodness. :) Gouda is another wonderful center stuffing but have to watch it as it kicks up the richness factor.
