4. 1985 Buick Riviera Convertible T-Type 3.8 Liter Turbo (the convertible part is an aftermarket conversion, sold by Buick... not sure if it is eligible, I'll just take the coupe if it doesn't count)

I'm not good with model names as an exact science so just think of the most hardcore version of that vehicle as the answer with the compliant engine displacement.

 

Inb4 someone says 2017 Raptor.

 

Okay. Porsche 911. I dunno which kind. Too many to chose, any year would be fine.

 

CT6 3.0TT Premium. I can't stand the way the Platinum grille looks.

Great choice with the stock Supra!   Oh and of course the Grand National.. but that one is a little more obvious.

Frisky, I LOVE your list! The only one I wouldn't want on my own would be the M3. And I wouldn't even change classes I'd just jump ship to the C63 probably..(if it weren't for the rules of this). Stay with the rules and I don't think anything else will beat it for its displacement.

True on the GNX but it is literally the only GM car I would have form the 80's. I remember when it first came out and the fear it put into GMs own cars (Vette anyone?). It was and still is the ultimate sleeper car (in the historical sense anyway).

Here is the shocker, a Pontiac Aztek awd 3.4 liter.  And I would drive it off road, through streams, over hills, and abuse the heck out of it until it was broken in half.

 

For number 5, I am not really sure, but probably a Ferrari 275 GTB because Steve McQueen had one.

The Aztek indeed was quite good.

Hahaha an Aztek! I actually love your reasoning, just abuse the F out of it! It'd probably be fun has heck to have something to completely trash. 

OK...I see that I cant choose a different path as the one I chose originally over at MT forums back in the day because of all you people choosing the the Buick GN/GNX.....but...Id gladly bypass the Buick for something more unique, more different, but same exact engine. And I get to keep my absolute favorite pony car name plate in my dream garage at the same time...TRANS AMs ROCK!!!

If I could go back into time and relive my teenaged years in the 1980s...this would have been my dream garage...actually, this WAS my 3.0-3.9 liter dream car garage in the 1980s...

 

In order of preference this time around, starting with the car that I lusted the most and ending with the car that I lusted a little less than the most.

 

 

1986  Porsche 930 Turbo flat six 3.3 liter.

 

1989 Turbo Grand Prix 3.1liter V6

 

1985 BMW M635 CSi

3.5 liter inline 6.

Yeah...Id rather the Turbo Pontiac G.P. FWD W-Body over the Bimmer ...problem???!!!

1987 Buick GNX and 1989 Ford Thunderbird SC (Super Coupe)

Both 3.8 liter V6s...one is Turbocharged, the other Supercharged.

 

Those gen hi-po Grand Prix's were dope. They really had RWD-car proportions.

The final year of the E-bodies got some interior "fluffing" and other smaller mechanical enhancements.  Also, pretty much any GM vehicle in the '80s is best in its final year on the platform because it took GM that long to get it right.  I don't have the articles handy, but Buick was making tweaks to the Turbo 3.8 nearly every year in production in order to improve reliability.

I too am in love with the F-Type Coupe. GORGEOUS car. 

Well I THINK I have my list.. Not 100% as I could see switching a few. Like my 911 Targo 4S.. I could see switching to something a little more toy-like like a 911 GT3 or RS or a Turbo S.. Tacoma TRD could switch to an F150 FX4 or Limited.. but My Daily would likely be the Rover Sport so why would I need a second large luxury vehicle? I would't..and the TRD or FX4 would be a ton of fun all off-road-like.

 

The first two were easy for me.

RR Sport - I'd want the Euro diesel version because it is 306hp/516tq vs the US diesel 254hp/443tq or the supercharged gaser at 340hp/332tq. 

 

Tacoma TRD

 

 

911 Targo - because Targas are cool and I've always thought they looked like a fun car to drive. Add some wind in the hair without ruining the looks of a car by making it a full on convertible..yup.
