June 24, 20169 yr It's not just the shifter from FCA. Every single one of those stupid shifters that return back to centre are really unintuitive, you find them in BMW's, Benz's, and now even some GM models. I'd say even a knob shifter like RAM, 200, Fusion and Jaguars is probably a better solution to a shifter that does not take up a lot of space.

They found such a great set of actors that represented the original cast so well. Such a sad useless accident.

If they don' get it in park it warns them in 4 ways. 1. it shows the gear it is in on the shifter. 2. It shows the gear i is in on the instrument cluster.. 3. there is an audible warning chime if the door is opened while not in park. 4. it actually says vehicle not in park in the instrument cluster. A tragedy? yes. Sad? yes Mechanical issue? No

So clearly some just do not pay attention. Over all sad loss of life.
