Another crossover could be joining Nissan's U.S. lineup. The Truth About Cars has learned from sources that Nissan will be debuting the Qashqai at the Detroit Auto Show next month. The Qashqai has been sold in Europe since 2007 and has become the brand's best-selling model.

The Qashqai will sit below the Rogue in Nissan's lineup. In terms of measurements, the Qashqai is 10 inches shorter in overall length and rides on a wheelbase that is 2.3 inches shorter than the Rogue. No mention of a powertrain, but we assume that Nissan's xTronic CVT and the choice of front-wheel and all-wheel drive will be available.

The model could be released in late 2017 as a 2018 model.

So smaller than an Escape, but bigger than a Trax. Got it. Super sized granny ride coming up....

They could have been in front of this craze with this car, but it took them a while and now they are playing catch up.

Juke - Qashqai - Rogue - Murano - Pathfinder - Armada

That's a pretty complete lineup....

So it's Juke's less... flamboyant brother.  I was looking at Rogues and thinking they're noticeably bigger than they used to be, so the Cashcow should find a definite niche.

There's obviously a spot in the lineup. But jeez, I'm over the CUV craze.

Pretty much like I am so over the Coupe Car craze. RIght now all cars are dogs and the whole Coupe style is so over done, they can crush them all and I would not weep a tear.

On the SUV/CUV side, would love a new updated Trailblazer SS AWD and an EV AWD CUV to go with the BOLT / VOLT.

Got to be a reason this is such a big seller in Europe and top rated by most testers. Should be a big hit here with singles , young families, and seniors. Will be one of the best looking in class. Hope Nissan will finally have a turbo available in this and the Rouge.
