May 17, 200619 yr Chazman posted this over at CZ28: http://web.camaross.com/forums/showthread.php?t=450698 I think a 3.0L V6 TDI with 220HP and 400lb-ft could go into a variety of applications and do well. Right now it sounds like Holden will be getting a Zeta diesel, so I wonder if the US will too.
May 17, 200619 yr That would be awesome, especially for those that are baby boomers looking for a "luxury" who are still hippie at heart.
May 17, 200619 yr Or maybe the return of the Omega? It sounds like there's a business case for the Insignia concept.
May 17, 200619 yr The H3 gets a different 3.0 L diesel designed for truck applications. give it to the colorodo too... i would love to see a 200+ hp compact truck that could see at least 30mpg on deisel...
May 17, 200619 yr The H3 gets a different 3.0 L diesel designed for truck applications. Is the 3.0 truck diesel the Izusu one they use overseas in the DMax now?
May 17, 200619 yr Is the 3.0 truck diesel the Izusu one they use overseas in the DMax now? Similar, the final specs have yet to be seen.
May 17, 200619 yr Maybe it will be used so Zetas can be competitive in Europe? It would be more useful in the CTS, SRX and STS.
May 17, 200619 yr That would be great because of the gas mileage, plus maybe it will attract a certain crowd because if my knowledge serves me right there are no other companies producing diesel cars in the US. As for diesel in Camaro, no friggin way, it won't reach high enough RPMs for any performance enthusiast.
May 17, 200619 yr The US needs the diesels. If GM doesn't offer more diesels I will have to jump brands...
May 18, 200619 yr The US needs the diesels. If GM doesn't offer more diesels I will have to jump brands... For once I agree with you.
May 18, 200619 yr A diesel option is definitely needed here in the US, across a lot of model lines. GM has had ample time to live down the 70's.
