May 17, 200619 yr not sure how real this is, but it does look a fair amount like the Aero X concept, which is supposed to be the inspiration for the next 9-5. I think this is pretty hot, so go for it Saab.
May 17, 200619 yr The front's a little too pointed to be a Saab. Pointed beaks like that make me think Pontiac. Other than that, it's quite nice.
May 17, 200619 yr Nice! I do kind of like the pointed front end though (makes me thing fighter jet). By the way, where did you get this sketch? This is the first 9-5 sketch I have seen.
May 17, 200619 yr Author I found it on Left Lane News, but also found this similar shot showing the sketch from the opening of the new GM Design Center in Germany, with Brian Nesbitt.
May 17, 200619 yr That looks awesome! The pointed front end gives it a bit more of a jet-like look to it. I hope the real thing looks something like this.
May 17, 200619 yr It's a hawt sketch. Very, very cool... and totally unique to Saab. They need this as the next 9-5 really badly. I hope the next 9-3 is as good looking.
May 18, 200619 yr I love it. This would the first all new 9-5 in more than a decade! It should be up to the levels of the Germans when it's launched.

May 18, 200619 yr That's a great looking sedan. Looks like a hybrid of Lutz-ian and Mauer's styling traits (tumblehome & stance for the former, blacked out A-pillar, hockeystick c-pillar, grille being the latter). From this drawing, there's not one bad thing to say about this design. Fast track it, GM!
May 18, 200619 yr Much MUCH better than the Hyundaab 9-5 we have right now. Pop in a fresh announced 3.6L DI and it should fly. Stay FWD though, please.
May 19, 200619 yr That... Is.... Awesome... ...and this is coming from a guy who has never liked SAAB's in his life. A car this great will certainly attract new customers.
May 19, 200619 yr Holy sh!t. If this is the next 9-5 it would sell faster than a new hooker on the corner. GM, PLEASE LET THIS BE THE NEXT 9-5. Then make the 9-3 look somewhat similar.
May 19, 200619 yr Let's hope it's not. It's a complete impracticle car are drawn. Trying fitting into the back. Does it even have a rear window? Concept cars and especially concept car sketches mean nothing to me. Production cars are what count. Mark

Mark Yeah, it's a concept drawing, but given the Aero-X concept + this concept drawing, many of us SAAB fans (and even those that are not) can see some SWEET stuff brewing from that "dead" Swedish brand.

Yeah, I sure hope so. Could that car be a hatchback or a liftback, or am I'm still thinking "Saab 900" too much?
May 19, 200619 yr These pics and more info are available at AutoScoops.net Looks great I hope Saab pushes through!

May 23, 200619 yr That is so totally awesome! SAAB will be big... and sooner than the pundits think! (The only thing I don't dig is the combination of the headlamps/outer grille flanks.)
