Glad to see the Miata and their crossovers doing well, the three is way down...

i've shared something like this before: I wonder if the mazda5 (MPV) has any future plans to come back?  just curious...

I still think a small truck could work...

rumor around the 'net is either '18 MY 3 will be refreashed with skyactiv 2 or it'll be CY '18. not sure.  HCCI in a production vehicle will be interesting...not much word if it'll be the 2.0L, 2.5L or what....

It would have to be a complete refresh, the outgoing Mazda 5 had the crash worthiness of a leftover popcorn bag from a cinema.

i don't doubt that... basically. but they redesigned ..basically everything else...not saying 1 more is insignificant...but for a "small van" it would be a segment only, right? it's still basically made for the Asian market.  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mazda_Premacy

or not " In February 2016, Mazda Motor announced that development and production of minivans could end within the year. Sales of the Premacy, the MPV (Mazda 8) and Biante would end by 2017 "

Personally I think they would do better pushing small crossovers.

They sell a CX4 and are coming out with a CX8 in other markets, lets see if either eventually makes it to North America in some form.

I think that product would help them quite a bit, actually.
