It might as well be from 2-24-1935

Dates are a key issue with news articles. Old articles don't bring much to the table.

This article was just re-released, I'm not sure why.  It came out as a google news alert 2 days ago.

Strange

People here think that the B and C BOF cars are returning, as the car in 98's signature. But no, the Zeta is unibody and any new Buick sedan will not have velour seats, skirts, and coach lights. But it will have port holes though.

That's the Chinese Buick LaCrosse in that photo...

Buick really does need a large RWD sedan to compete with the Chrysler 300.. the Velite convertible they were talking about could be built in the same assembly plant as the Camaro and GTO.. really you would probably need two north american assembly plants for the Zeta platform cars.. one for the Camaro, Velite, Monte Carlo and GTO.. and another plant for the Impala, Buick sedan, and Grand prix/G8..

Hopefully GM is smart enough to build only one plant with flexible manufacturing. Keep the production utilization at or over 100% so that demand just slightly outpaces supply. They won't have to discount anything. Like money $$$$ in the bank.

I wish they would build more cars with velour seats. The cloth in most cars (the Chrysler 300 for example) is just a step up from canvas.

"The Buick sedan has been designed to accept GM's 5.7-liter V8, which likely will be mated to a five- or six-speed automatic transmission."

is this dating it by itself? or does holden still use a 5.7L?

Holden uses the 6.0L LS2

Yes, it's the Communist LaCrosse but still I hope we are getting

a short & long wheelbase Buicks. Park Ave & Roadmaster? One

can hope I suppose, although that lame-asssed "Statesman"

name will most likely come to fruition.

I seriously doubt that Buick's RWD flagship will debut before 2010 to 2012, and it will probably be the next generation Lucerne.

Well, obviously.. it's not 1980.

To most, "Park Avenue" and "Roadmaster" are attached to such frumpy vehicles.

I think the public would react better to names that don't conjure up images of cushy, conservatively-styled land yachts.

I just hope GM doesn't start sorting through the alphabet to find new names for the RWD Buicks.

Just imagine driving a Buick SD7RWK75 RWD 4DR SC! Wow. Just rolls off the tongue.

They could glom together previous top-of-the-line sedan model names and call it the Buick Electra Park Avenue Ultra Limited. :)

And then have a sporty version with the names "super special" attached? ;)
