July 11, 20178 yr Okay, after that great run of special DG threads from other posters- thanks btw!!- I'm revisiting the series I started based around cylinder count. Some of the greatest sports coupes ever built were powered by 6 cylinder engines of some sort, so I expect great things here!! Rules- 1) Obviously- IT MUST HAVE A 6 CYLINDER ENGINE. NO HYBRIDS. 2) Maximum of 5 choices. 3) These are your only vehicles. 4) Production vehicles only. 5) Any era and market is allowed. 6) This is a new one- IF YOU WISH TO DO A SEPARATE POST WITH 5 MORE CARS TO ROUND OUT A TOP 10, YOU ARE WELCOME TO DO SO, SO LONG AS THE FIRST IS YOUR TOP 5. I know some here really like these, so this is a bone I am tossing to them. And me. Edited July 11, 20178 yr by Frisky Dingo

July 11, 20178 yr Author @ykX Ah, gotcha. See that's kinda what makes these fun and challenging. A 6 cylinder car I picked elsewhere I may not pick here depending on the other vehicles I selected.

R33 Nissan Skyline GTR Cadillac CT6 3.0TT Cadillac CTS V-Sport 2nd 5 1987 Buick GNX unmolested Toyota Supra TT unmolested 1993 Nissan 300ZX ΤΤ 2018 Audi A6-not out yet
July 11, 20178 yr Ok...6 cylinders. Top 5. For a daily, something practical-- '17 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit For late-model fun-- '15 Porsche 911 GT3 '15 Porsche Boxster S For older fun-- '89 Nissan Skyline GT-R '91 Acura NSX Second list of 6 cyl models... Something new and shiny-- Cadillac CTS-V Surprise, surprise--a couple old 4.0L Jeeps. '00 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4x4 in Patriot Blue, like my old one '93 Jeep Grand Cherokee--wouldn't mind having a first gen And now the wild cards, downright weird... '69 Ford Custom 2dr sedan with 3 on the tree and a 240 Six (a rarity) '67 Ford F100 pickup w/ the 300 6 and 3 on the tree. Never had a truck, but an old Ford would be fun to bomb around in.

I switched up the Supra for a Stealth.
July 12, 20178 yr Actual top 5... 1968 Pontiac Firebird Sprint convertible. 1953 Chevrolet Corvette 55 Mercedes Benz 300 SL
July 12, 20178 yr Jag E type, #4... Also, to have as a modern daily, Acura TLX SH-AWD for those Ohio winters.
July 13, 20178 yr Took a while for the GNX to show up. Good call on the DB5, and the 1955 300SL took a really long time to show up and is the first choice for any 6 cylinder car battle. I'd say a Porsche 911 is a good bet too because they have all wheel drive for 4 seasons and they are a reliable car that holds value. I think we need an ultimate garage of cars not sold in the USA, such as the Skyline.

I appreciate very much where it stands in the history of the automobile and its contributions in the technology department but I just dont lust over it anymore. The Porsche 911 has taken its place for me. Same thing for a MkIV Toyota Supra. I absolutely love this car, but its come to the point where Id rather a 300ZX ΤΤ and a Dodge Stealth/Mitsu 3000 VR4. I guess with the Supra its because too many poseurs of the Fast and Furious crowd line up for it and the shytty 3rd generation Eclipse just because it was in the movie and not enough love is given to the Mitsubishi 3000. In fact the Mitsu 3000 is almost forgotten. Then there is the Playstation crowd that gives a tad too much love to the Lancer in that these people think the first performance Mitsu car is the Lanccer. They dont even know about the 3000... Edited July 13, 20178 yr by oldshurst442

They dont even know about the 3000... I am trying to move away from seeing the same 12 cars in the Dream car garage threads... That being said, were I to actually buy a 6 cyl car with my own money...\ 911 Cayman ....and that would be it. DB5 is nice but very pricey, like seeing them at shows, but would not want to risk one driving it hard. MK 4 Supra is nice, but pricey...and the F and F thing... Tired of old school muscle cars in a way, I ahve loved them for 45 plus years but really, really, really ready for something different. Jeep Grand Cherokee would be my first choice for an SUV in a larger category, but I am not much of an SUV guy.
July 14, 20178 yr Author My 2nd portion to round out a 10 piece- 930 Turbo MkIV Supra Turbo BMW 1M TVR Sagaris (pretty much always gonna pick this psychadelic'd jack-o-lantern) F Type 400 Sport Roadster
