Info please: Which platforms are to be redone...

Featured Replies

I am starting to get baffled by the alphabet soup of change.

Which new platforms are to be redone or scrapped/replaced for the 2008 and 2009 model year?

2008 - Malibu and related platform?

2009 - Impala and related platform?

What about LaX and GP - when are they do for facelift or doomed to the graveyard of monikers?

What is moving from FWD to RWD?

This would be interesting for everyone's edification.

08 Malibu is, apparently, just a major refresh and remaining on Epsilon I.

Now, the 2010, I think, Aura will be on EpII. I think.

As for the others mentioned, I think the LaX is going on EpII after the Aura, but before the Malibu.

The only vehicle(s) that will likely be moving to RWD will be the Impala and maybe Lucerne. Impala BY 2009 CY, Lucerne shortly after.

Grand Prix, no clue.

Of course, Croc may pop his toothy head in here and make my memory look like crap, since I pulled all of the above from my head, but thats what I seem to recall from bits and pieces scattered about in half a dozen threads.

I thought that sub-Theta was no longer planned and that there was no plan for a new Pontiac G6.

I thought that sub-Theta was no longer planned and that there was no plan for a new Pontiac G6.

Sub-Theta was cut but may get the go-ahead again. The main reason it seems that it was cut was because it was not going to be a very global platform.

The G6 is planned and has codes.
