Sadly, I don't think I would take any Subaru over any US benz. I'd rather a slow CLA or GLA over a super dated STi. Yeah, they wouldn't win any races but they'd be better daily drivers and still not legitimately slow.

I was thinking dollar for dollar buying it with my own money rather than as a gift.  We're I to spend eighty grand on a car...it would not be either.

Yeah, no. I would maybe, maybe take a CLA by the slimmest of margins, but the GLA is beyond despicable. I'd rather have a Yaris. Not even kidding.

About the only current US Benzes I'd consider leasing would be the GLE, GLS, E-class coupe, E-class wagon...

I had a Yaris for almost a month as a rental. F. U. C. K. That. 

Ick.   I've twice had rental cars for 3 weeks each---a Chrysler 300M back in 99 and a VW Passat earlier this year.  Both were pleasant to drive.

Both of them are decent cars,actually.

If I had a choice it would have been something different but it was on the other lady's insurance's dime so I couldn't be picky.
