Later this month, Buick will be debuting an all-electric concept SUV named the Enspire. The teaser picture released by Buick shows off a rakish back window and a taillight that runs the full length of the rear.

"The Enspire leverages GM’s global resources and is an exploration of design and new technologies. It is the brand’s latest example of innovation and application of future electric smart mobility," Buick said in a press release.

We're not surprised that Buick is showing off an electric concept in China. Last year, Chinese buyers bought 1.18 million Buick models - compared to the 219,231 sold in the U.S. China is also pushing automakers to build electric vehicles to help reduce emissions in the country.

We'll have more information when the Enspire debuts on April 17th during Buick Brand Night.

Sounds cool...a new application of the Bolt drivetrain, I presume..

I thought they were removing the name "Buick" off the back of cars?

I am glad to see more EV's though, and hope it doesn't look like a clown car like an i3.  If companies want electric cars to sell they need to look good.

Probably not in China... it has strong brand cache there. 

I get that Buick is introducing that EV in China first.  Fine.  When can we get it here in the USA?

Interesting story at Autoblog says that in 2015 GM trademarked the name "Enspire" and that this is the Existing BEV Auto listed in Mary Barra EV plans she laid out in November as an Unbadged Crossover for non-US market till Global EV Platform 2 is released on new models globally for 2020.

Totally makes sense to build a Buick based EV for China off the Bolt Platform as they work on version 2 that is to under pin the bulk of all global EV auto's for GM.
