Subaru trademarks "Evoltis" for First Hybrid

Subarus has filed with the US Patent and Trademark office for the auto name Evoltis. This will be their first Hybrid based on the Toyota Prius powertrain. Many are hoping that unlike Toyota, Subaru will do their due diligence to build it as an AWD auto.

Really?

Ya know they had to do something being late to the party and since Toyota owns them, it only makes sense to reduce costs by putting the Prius powertrain into a Subaru.

With Subaru's Global One Platform that all auto's they make and sell are moved onto, they will be having to beef up the Prius Powertrain to make it work but should have a solid product.

By 'really?' I meant the utterly unimaginative 'evoltis' name.
Going to add to that with another 'really?' at the 'Global One' platform name.

Not much creativity left in the auto industry.

I wonder if it be GMO-free and gluten free...

"Evoltis"?  Positively revolting

I had a number of Die Hard Subaru coworkers that said Gen 2.0 of this car will be called the Revoltis! :roflmao:

Yup, Toyota bought GM's ownership shares of Subaru at Bankruptcy or it was just before. This is why they use so much of Toyota now in their cars.

Oh, well, all the sources I could find, latest of which was dated February 2018, states a 16% stake, and that Subaru/Fuji remains independent.

Yes the % stake is not controlling but Toyota does seem to have some major muscle on what Subaru does with their product line. It would almost seem like the shares they do own are preferential stocks in the company.

But you said Toyota owns Subaru there, Sparky.  Ahma call you Sparky cuz yer all about the lectric cors
