May 26, 200619 yr Anybody see this months HOT ROD with artist sketches of a Trans Am based on the Camaro concept, a Cougar based on the Stang, and a Cuda based on the Challenger?
May 26, 200619 yr Looks like an interesting group of concepts, although I don't really see Merc getting a Cougar again (although the idea would be entertaining).
May 26, 200619 yr ive seen the trans am before... that one and the one NOS did are my favorite camaro based trans ams ive seen so far... the cougars alright i guess... i was never a real big fan tho... maybe someone who likes them more woul like it better... the cuda... eh... boring... so much of the same... but look at that text... a Chrylser 'Cuda? are they serious? mopar fans would be screaming bloody murder for years about that haha
May 26, 200619 yr I like 'em all, but you can file them under "not gonna happen". The Cougar would have the best chance and that's unlikely. Too bad.
May 26, 200619 yr That Trans Am is hotter than a carburetor fire!!! If they make a "CONVERSION KIT" for the Camaro like that my Camaro will not wear a Chevy badge after I get bored of burnouts & the 1/4 mile.
May 26, 200619 yr There is talk of Mustang-based Lincoln in a few years, but I havent heard anything about a Mercury version.
May 26, 200619 yr a stang based lincoln? mark 9???? wooo!!!! i love the mark series... especially the mark 5.... get me one in black... and i will be scaring little old ladies and rice boys alike... man those are some sweet cars...
May 26, 200619 yr There is talk of Mustang-based Lincoln in a few years, but I havent heard anything about a Mercury version. uh.... Lincoln LS?
May 26, 200619 yr I love the Firebird. The Cougar reminds me of an Oldsmobile Achieva or Ninety Eight in front. I know it's based on the old Cougar style, but still. The Barracuda... meh.
May 26, 200619 yr I've read several times about a Cougar in the pipes... that's an obvious move, esp. if FoMoCo wants to keep Mercury around for another decade. I love the idea of a hardtop Cougar XR7 but that sketch is not all that flattering, not the front and not the back, looks like a bad chop at best. The ugliest part of the current gen. Mustang is the damn 9" thick B-pillar... gross. I hope the redesign makes the Mustang a Hardtop too since I'm 99% sure the Challenger & Camaro will be hardtops unless GM or DMX fu%k up royally.
May 26, 200619 yr I think Cougar could work, but it needs to be a notchback. I love the 'Cuda - too bad they killed Plymouth as it looks better than the Challenger(which I also like). I could do without the screaming chicken, but the Firebird looks good too. Won't happen, but nice to look at.
