According to electrek web site they were given information it would seem anonymously that is a real change from the gradually constant introduction of updates and new features Tesla is known for in pushing out updates quarterly. It seems for the Q3 2019 Tesla is planning to introduce a new minimalist interior into the S and X models inline with the Tesla 3. A full refresh of the exterior and interior will happen in 2021 as an assumed 2022 model.

While the S and X are Tesla's flagship models and will remain so, the company is going to harmonize these interiors to look much like the Tesla 3's interior but with premium materiel's, features and expanded custom colors.

Many thought that after 6 years of the same body style and interior that this staleness would get a radical change but with an interior update next year, a refresh in 2021 of the exterior / interior would be only 6 years for the Model X and 11 years for the model S if you do not include this interior refresh or 5 years from this up coming refresh. This is also about the time that Tesla has stated they will roll out their Model Y CUV, Tesla Semi and the Gen 2.0 Roadster. A busy 2021 for them.

Now Electrek web site also just published using the information from above pictures of supposedly the new minimalist interior concepts. I honestly get that Tesla wants to go full automation in driving and take away the right for a person to enjoy driving and just use it as an appliance. This minimalist approach makes one really question if this will increase sales or drive potential customers to other OEMs? With that stated, you can sound off on what you think of these minimalist concept interiors and if they are an improvement or detriment to driving?

That looks pretty horrible, yeah.
Model S needs a clean sheet redesign- sales peaked this year in March @ 3375, but last month they were only 1200.

Too sterile and dull...and way too much gray.  Nothing about it says 'luxury' or premium.  A giant tablet touchscreen...yawn.
