BYD delivered the first of 13 electric buses to Indianapolis transit. This bus is to be used on the densest 13 mile corridor section to remove fumes and offer a quieter ride to the people living there. The 60 foot articulated bus will be used first to train everyone from mechanics to fire departments and to test the route for use, charging, etc. Indianapolis Transit has promised the citizens of their city to be 100% all electric bus fleet in 15 years or by 2033. This goes inline with many cities that are planning to do a turn over to all electric or hybrid buses in the next 15 to 20 years.
