I just don't see any problem with the HD being rugged looking. It's currently being reported that the new Ford SD will have as large a grill. Truth is, people who buy these are not buying them for the same reason they buy a luxury SUV or sports car.. Go figure. They buy them to do a job. Plus.. Intimidation is the motivator of some, and this sucker looks mean?

I don't see it as rugged at all. Just really really ugly. 

Anyway.... Here's a less offensive High Country version.. Prettier.. Like soft HD pickup non-buyers want?

That's better, less vomit-inducing than the regular one or the 1500. 

The High Country 2500 is a definite, and possibly palatable version of the design, but they are far below the 1500 in the looks department.

I'd take any of them over a Ram. Sorry to anyone who likes that Fiat, but outside of the interior I fail to see anything attractive in its design at all. Looking more Japanese than anything else, including the Tundra and Titan.. Imo

After seeing the HD High Country, I have to say the front end looks like a very high stack of cardboard sheets.  I prefer the LT by a country mile.  It just looks industrious.  Regular Cab LT 2500HD 4X4... *swoon*

rumor has it GM wanted to go with this design but was afraid of being seen as too conservative as with previous redesigns

Oh look who's back!

The High Country version is marginally better, but still too tall.  It looks like the top of the hood is 5 feet off the ground.   The front of the body could use about a 6 inch sectioning.  It looks like normal sized humans would need to use ladders or scaffolding to check the oil, change wiper blades, etc.
