I'm 6'3", I like smooth, quiet, large sedans.  I'm not a fan of the Avalon, and I'd like to keep the cost down.  I do like creature comforts on a car.

I think you'd be fine with either of the Buicks, however the '16 feels a bit larger inside than the '18.  I think you'll appreciate the space.

I was thinking that as well... also, it has a few extra features I'd like.  Just wish either car had blind-spot monitoring, but I've driven 25 years without it, so that's not an issue. ;)

@Paolino Have you looked at the Cadillac XTS? There are some great CPO deals at least around Seattle.

So they're a bit more than I'm willing to spend on a used car.  Single teacher here on Long Island, so I need my money for other things to survive!  Besides... that semi-circle gauge cluster is god awful.  I don't know who approved that.

What's the price point here? Would an E Class fit in there?

I guess if an XTS doesn't an E Class wouldn't either.

I think I would go with a 2016 Buick and then install the latest version of the stereo system to get the cellphone connectivity.

The 2016 has Apple Carplay/Android Auto, it was the 2015 and earlier that didn't.

I voted the 2016 because it would be cheaper than a 2016 and farther down he depreciation curve.  And one Buick Lacrosse is essentially the same as the next.

2016 was the last year of the 2nd gen LaCrosse, another factor is how much you like the styling of that generation inside and out vs the 3rd generation (2017 and newer).

Current gen LaCrosse sure is a swanky, sharp-looking car.
