June 1, 200619 yr Seems like everyone around me lately seems to be picking up some kind of Neon. I'm not sure why though. It started with a coworker picking up a 95. Then my neighbor around the corner picked up a 99. Now a good friend of mine just picked up a 98 Neon with 75k for 900 bucks (not bad, I say) for a beater. Now he wants me to get one to replace the aged cav wagon.... THough it did get me thinking... The wife had a 95, which had issues to last the least..(head gasket (twice), elec. issues, ate batteries.... Aside from the issues though, it was fun to drive (and even more fun to abuse toward the end) and it got kick butt milage...even while putting 2-3 quarts of oil in every week and a half.... I didn't realize Neons were that cheap...seems everyone is picking them up for under a few grand..... Beware! The Neons are everywhere!
June 1, 200619 yr Well, you could have posted a better picture of it. What's that black thing hogging the photo?
June 1, 200619 yr God, I remember being 15 years old durring the 1994 Winter Olympics and seeing those damn Neon ads like every 10 seconds. Say HI to Neon! The pillarless doors were semi cool but over all those 1st gen. Neons were not worth their weight in Cinderblocks. I suppose they were good economy cars I resented having one as a runner when I worked at Bill DeLuca CHevrolet.

Mine doesn't look that great either... but heck, it runs pretty good... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well, my parents' old '93 RS had a nasty problem with getting water in the floorboards, in the interior of the car. We could never figure out how the hell the bottom of our car would always end up looking like a minature Lake Michigan... Damn, the interior stunk. Edited June 2, 200619 yr by YellowJacket894

I can tell you..right in front of the floorboards... Unless it had a sunroof...very common problem then... the 85-94 cavs had the weakest floorboards..like ever...

June 3, 200619 yr Wasn't Neon on an earlier poll list for a white trash car? I just thought of one that raises the bar for white trashdom: Kia Sephia. Not good.
