Well, as I looked in the local Newspaper, I notice one that I probably would have ended up going out with again if I had turned out to be straight. It was for the upcoming Laurel Queen Pageant for Brookville's annual Laurel Festival. My jaw dropped as I saw her pic and read about her... My, how I have ignored what a talented and beautiful woman she has grown into. But, I'm gay... and I'd have it no other way. Still... for the breeders... "Mekka D, is the 16 year old daughter of Scott and Honey D (rest edited out) of Brookville. She is a junior at Brookville Area High School. Her school activities include: Concert Choir, Jazz Choir and school musicals. June 2, 200619 yr Never had the sexual confusion problem, but in grade 10 I dated a cute, straight (no pun intended) A student who had a band that did disco (okay, it was the '70s!), but then she later went on to become the metal queen of the '80s. Kinda makes me wonder about Madonna, y'know the image that is. This girl I dated was perky, very sexy and a "good girl." Then she becomes a very "bad girl" in metal music? Hmmm. I knew I was gay and I also knew she was safe to date because she wouldn't make sexual demands. Great ego boost, though. All my straight friends were jealous.

June 14, 200619 yr Author Okay... so the Pageant was tonight. It was held at BAHS' auditorium. I went... semi-regretfully. First time seeing some people since I was... well removed by my own will. I now remember why I did... it reinvigorated too many feelings that even the miracle working antidepressants couldn't hold back. So... I tried to ignore it and pay attention to the girls. Well... she won. I almost left, but decided to walk back in. I somehow gathered the guts to go up to her and talk to her when the crowd died down. It's been years, I tell you. It was nice to talk to her and she seemed surprised to find me there. I don't think she knows what went on with me and school, so I mentioned that I had some problems with it. Well, she then had to go... couldn't exactly catch up then, but she's going to be at the Laurel Festival most of the week and wanted to know if I would be. I am... hopefully we can catch up. I want to come out to her so badly... but I'm kinda scared...

I got tired of folks mis-pronouncing it, so I adopted the "roopull" spelling in certain circumstances just to keep folks from calling me 'rup-pell' or 'rap-pell...' or whatever. Poking around the internet, the name 'roopull' seems to be unique, so I'm satisified with it... even if it does sound like a certain giant black cross-dressing gay guy's adopted name!
