June 7, 200619 yr Author A very cool emblem off of a Monza Spyder. Yes. But this is a very specific vehicle. Do you know what that is?
June 8, 200619 yr Author Circa '77 Monza Super Spyder II concept. Got an XP number on that one, Olds Guy?? Maybe that one has a similar logo (don't know), but this pic is from a 1963 model.
June 8, 200619 yr The later Monza Spyder didn't have a logo like that...just the painted one on the hood. This is from the Corvair Monza Spyder.
June 8, 200619 yr The later Monza Spyder didn't have a logo like that...just the painted one on the hood.Pics from '77 I have of the SS II show a raised, chrome-edged, dark-background emblem. Maybe it was changed later? I am not challenging the '63 ID, BTW.
June 12, 200619 yr Again: NOT arguing-- just thought I'd share since there is NOTHING on the web on this concept, and it sure looks to be wearing the same emblem to me. Sorry for the poor quality. '77 Chevrolet Monza Super Spyder II:
June 12, 200619 yr Author Wouldn't take it as an argument. Since the car I snapped the photo of appears to be a one of a kind, I would guess the badge might be as well. But, it is always possible that it got reused. Getting all this info out there is one way to collect it and document.
June 12, 200619 yr Never saw the '77 in person- but I saw the 63 a buncha times, it lives at the Heritage Center and still has that emblem...likely reused or copied....
June 13, 200619 yr That '63 is a hot little car. I like the split bumpers and round signals... carried over to the '70 Camaro RS.
June 15, 200619 yr The production Monza had a huge spider decal if memory serves. I think it was elongated and went right up the middle of the hood.
